Marcy Vintage - a fresh approach in the Vintage Scene!
Vienna’s latest second-hand boutique combines the love for Vintage with a commitment to social and environmental responsibility.
Buying second-hand has never been more accessible. With fast-fashion companies charging exorbitant prices for miserable quality, shopping second-hand has become a popular and necessary choice to buy good quality clothing for less—even from a fashion perspective. Vintage silhouettes and fabrics tend to always be in trend, yet one always stands out from the crowd.
Carefully selected vintage fashion
With this rising interest and new consciousness regarding the impact of the fashion industry on the environment, it seems like every other day, a new vintage store is being opened in Vienna. Yes, Marcy Vintage is one of them. But rather than inflated prices for second-hand clothes, Marcy Vintage prides itself on honesty, integrity, and a commitment to social and environmental responsibility—all whilst keeping vintage clothing at a reasonable price. Situated at the heart of Vienna in the 4th district at Gußhausstraße 23, the concept store offers handpicked pre-loved pieces in vintage button-downs, heavy-duty jeans in 100% cotton, ball gowns, Trachten (traditional Austrian clothing), leather jackets, shoes, accessories, and sportswear. Its prime location allows for Viennese thrifters and tourists alike to find one-of-a-kind pieces at a good value for their money.
As part of its concept, Marcy Vintage recognises a responsibility towards social and environmental issues. The small business supports various social projects, offers private sellers (consignment) and young artists sales positions, and contributes to the circular economy. Marcy Vintage also accepts clothing donations in store.
Shop whilst supporting social projects.
With their consignment offer, private individuals can realise fair market prices in times of financial hardship. In addition, 75% of the proceeds from selected items go to "Woman Life Freedom" - the Iranian feminist movement - and to Syrian refugees who produce handmade crocheted bags from recycled materials with the "Bags from Scrap" initiative. The vintage shop also donates to Arbeiter Samariterbund, MUT and ProJuventa, among others.
Marcy Vintage is a vintage store that recognizes the importance of sustainability and the circular economy; and specializes in a curated selection of Vintage across eras. All whilst not forgetting their civic duty to others in times of need. This is Marcy Vintage.
